Watch goes Singing in the Rainforest with Myleene Klass and Glasvegas

Entertainment channel Watch has revealed some of the top musical talent signed for its exciting new series, Singing in the Rainforest, which sees musicians leave their creature comforts behind and embrace life with remote tribes from all around the world.
The five part series explores the power of music to bridge the gap between different worlds.
Classical musician Myleene Klass visited the Ulithians on the remote Pacific island of Mog Mog, in the Federated States of Microniesa. Myleene’s grand piano was shipped on to the tiny island – reachable only by boat and with no running water or electricity – to create a desert island recording studio.
Scottish indie rock band Glasvegas visited the Waorani of Bameno, Ecuador in one of the most remote areas of the Amazon rainforest. Bameno is located two days, by canoe, from the nearest road and all of the band’s equipment had to be paddled in.
Singing in the Rainforest follows Myleene and Glasvegas as they collaborate with different cultures to produce a new and unique piece of music, which will be available to download after the programme airs. These remarkable meetings of different cultures result in extraordinary and unique musical collaborations.
Singing in the Rainforest will be broadcast in 2015 and will film with three more musicians and tribes to complete the series.
At the end of the week the visiting musicians will collaborate with their hosts and create a piece of music that will be played in a grand finale concert for the village and its neighbours. The newly recorded track, which will blend two very different musical cultures together, will be made available for download, with shares of the sales benefitting the tribe.
Watch has consistently increased its slate of original commissions and high profile
acquisitions. All-new Dynamo: Magician Impossible returns in September and hotly-anticipated drama series directed by Guillermo del Toro, The Strain, also starts this month.

About Singing in the Rainforest
Each episode of Singing in the Rainforest (5x60’), produced by Gogglebox Entertainment, a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television, takes well-known artists and bands out of their natural environment and challenges them to immerse themselves in tribal life for one week, with no creature comforts to fall back on. They will be exposed to rituals, customs and above all the tribe’s musical culture and, in turn, the artists will present their style of music to the tribe. At the end of the week the visiting musicians will collaborate with their hosts and create a piece of music that will be played in a grand finale concert for the village and its neighbours. The newly recorded track, which will blend two very different musical cultures together, will be made available for download, with shares of the sales benefitting the tribe.
